Peacocks Capture First Win of Season With 2-0 Shutout Over Fairfield

JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's Men's Soccer defeated Fairfield University, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at Jaroschak Field.

In the second to last home match of the season, Saint Peter's held on for a clean sheet victory over Fairfield. It was a clean performance by the Peacocks for the duration of 90 minutes.
The scoring started early for the Peacocks with a penalty goal from Harvey Ormerod in the sixth minute. The Peacocks added to that goal in that first half with another goal from Cuba Bak Sorensen with less than two minutes before halftime.

Offensively, the Peacocks were in attack mode throughout the match. The squad finished with a total of 18 shot attempts and 11 shots on goal. En route to a shutout, Pedro Alves recorded four saves for Saint Peter's.

In what was Saint Peter's first win of the season, it was about as dominant as Coach Julian Richens and his coaching staff could have hoped for. Saturday's match was the second half of a doubleheader at Jaroschak Field hosted by Saint Peter's Women's Soccer and Men's Soccer.
