Box Score Emmitsburg, M.D.- Saint Peter's Men's Soccer defeated Mount St. Mary's, 3-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium.
Tim Strele propelled the Peacocks to a 3-1 road victory with two goals. This was a must-win game for the Peacocks and the team delivered the proper results.
Strele gave the Peacocks a first half lead with a 35
th-minute goal against The Mount. That was the end result of an aggressive first half for Saint Peter's with six shot attempts and three shots on goal. In total, Saint Peter's finished the match with 13 shots and six shots on goal.
Connall McErlain netted Saint Peter's second goal of the match in the 49
th minute. Strele added his second goal and the team's third in the 62
nd minute.
With Saint Peter's victory, the Peacocks moved to 2-9-4 and stayed within striking distance of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. The Peacocks are on a two-game winning streak heading into the final match of the season.
