JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's University men's soccer junior
Guilherme Melchiori netted a second half goals in the Peacocks 2-1 setback to Merrimack College in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest on Saturday.
The Peacocks fall to 0-8-4 and 0-2-2 in the MAAC, while the Warriors improve to 2-10-0 overall and 1-3-0 in conference play.
Merrimack struck first as Simon Johansson put the Warriors ahead 1-0 in the 36
th minute of play.
The Warriors went up 2-0 early in the second half but Saint Peter's answered in the 71
st minute.
Melchiori put the Peacocks on the board with a tally off an assist from junior
Tim Strele to cut the score to 2-1. Saint Peter's had a few scoring chances in the second half but fell short of netting the equalizer.

Pedro Alves totaled seven saves in the match.
The Peacocks travel to Sacred Heart University for a MAAC contest on Wednesday, October 23 at 6 pm.
