NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.- The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team fell short 1-0 to Iona University in a Metro Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest on Saturday.
The Peacocks fall to 4-9 overall and 1-7 in the MAAC, while the Gaels bump up to 4-7-3 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half with Iona holding a 7-6 edge on shots over the first 45 minutes of play.
Both teams had scoring opportunities early in the second half but Iona broke the deadlock with a tally in the 68th minute of play. The Peacocks had a couple of chances late in the match but failed to deliver the equalizer.
Saint Peter's held the edge in shots on goal for the game 8-4, led by four from sophomore
Joana Dias and two by senior
Lula Mansilla Medina.

Annabelle Adams posted three saves in the match.
The Peacocks return to the pitch on Saturday, October 19 as they travel to Niagara for a conference match-up at noon.
