HAMDEN, CT. – The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball team fell Thursday afternoon against Quinnipiac by a score of 50-39.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore guard Jada Leonard started the Peacocks off the afternoon shooting beyond the 3 point arc, putting the Peacocks on the board early. Leonard went 2-of-4 in 3-pointers, 3-of-7 in field goals, and finished the game with a total of 14 points.
During the second quarter, Graduate Student Mikia Keith scored a 3-point goal assisted by Graduate Student Maya Hyacienth, tying the score 13-13 with 3 minutes and 46 seconds remaining. Following that, Sophomore guard Reilly Sunday contributed three points. At halftime, the score was 17-17.
After the half, Keith scored a 3-point goal that gave the Peacocks the lead. The Peacocks lost the lead. Despite their early success, they were unable to overcome the difficult hurdle of sustaining that lead throughout the game.
Saint Peter's secured 40 rebounds collectively during Thursday's game. The Peacocks shot 32% from three. The squad went 13-17 in FT.

The Peacocks head up to Loudonville where the squad takes on Siena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday, January 6th.
