EASTON, PA. - The Saint Peter's volleyball team fell in three sets to the Lafayette Leopards Wednesday night. The Peacocks dropped to 0-7 on the season.
Match Notes
- Elena Bilhartz had a team-high 4.5 points. Camille Thoennes led the Peacocks with three blocks.
- LC defeated SPU in the first set 25-18. The Peacocks trailed 15-10 before they went on a 6-0 run capped off by a Savina Trujillo service ace. The Leopards won four of the last five points and closed out the set.
- With the second set tied at eight, Lafayette went on a 7-0 run and won the set 25-16.
- The Peacocks and Leopards exchanged runs in a tightly contested third set. Ivanka Sikiric completed a service ace and tied the set at 17-17. The Leopards took the next eight out of 10 points and defeated the Peacocks 25-19.
- Lafayette collectively had 18 more points and 21 more kills than SPU. The Peacocks outblocked the Leopards 7-2.
The Peacocks will be back this weekend at the Friar Classic. Saint Peter's faces Providence on Friday, Sep. 8 at 4:30.
