JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's University softball senior
Sophie Wilson (Atlantic Highlands, N.J.) drove in three runs as the Peacocks split a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference twin bill with Quinnipiac University.
The Peacocks move to 30-20 overall and 9-11 in the MAAC, while the Bobcats stand at 17-23 and 5-13 in conference play.
Saint Peter's struck first as Wilson drove in a run with a single in the second inning for a 1-0 lead.
The Bobcats answered in the fourth with a pair of runs to pull ahead 2-1. Senior
Brandi Feeney (Cicero, N.Y.) evened the score in the home fourth with a run scoring single.
The teams again traded runs in the fifth as Quinnipiac pushed ahead 3-2 but the Peacocks again answered in their half of the inning. Senior
Cara McNulty (Middletown, N.J.) doubled in the tying run to pull even at 3-3.
The Bobcats pushed across the go-ahead run in the seventh and held on to take the opener 4-3.
In the nightcap, Quinnipiac took the early lead with a run in the first inning. Saint Peter's answered the call in their half of the inning as McNulty lifted a sacrifice fly to pull even at 1-1.

The Peacocks rallied in the fourth as Wilson, this time as a pinch hitter, singled in two runs with the bases loaded to put the home team up 3-2. Freshman
Tai Turner (Havre De Grace, MD) tacked on a run for the Peacocks with an RBI in the fifth for a 4-2 lead.

Sydney Palmer (Fellesmere, Fla.) earned her tenth win of the season in relief, tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits.
Prior to the doubleheader, the Peacocks honored its graduating seniors in
Kristen Brennan, Samantha Miller, Aubrey Ketcham, Kourtney Ketcham, McNulty,
Courtney Fraher, Wilson,
Christina Colon and Feeney.
The Peacocks conclude their 2023 season as they travel to Storrs, Connecticut for a non-conference game against the University of Connecticut.
