Women’s Volleyball Travels to CCSU for Three-Match Tournament

New Britain, Conn. – Saint Peter's women's volleyball is on the hunt for its first win when it takes on Columbia, Binghamton and hosts Central Connecticut State this weekend at the CCSU Invitational.

The freshmen-laden Peacocks (0-4) have shown progress through their opening slate of matches heading into the middle of this non-conference stretch against Ivy League, America East and NEC foes. 

The Basics: Opening Weekend

• Game 1: Columbia – Friday, 7 p.m. (Watch Live)

Peacocks by the Numbers

• Freshman middle blocker Morgan Thurlow has been the leader on offense, tallying team-best figures of 28 kills on .230 hitting.
• Freshman setter Lillian Konrad has guided the attack with 72 assists, averaging six per set.
• Freshman middle blocker Elena Bilhartz has tallied a team-high eight total blocks.
• Newcomers Laken Dillon, Mackenzie Tucker and Alexis Kapales each lead the team with 25 digs through four matches.

Other Side of the Net

• This will be the first meeting between Saint Peter's and Columbia since 1996. The Peacocks hold a 2-0 edge all-time. After going 5-19 last season, this will be the first match of the season for the Lions.
• CCSU (1-2) swept Holy Cross on its opening weekend and has defeated Saint Peter's four consecutive times, with their last meeting coming in 2019.
• Binghamton (2-1) defeated Maryland Eastern Shore and swept Siena to open its season. The Bearcats defeated Saint Peter's in their first-ever meeting last season.
