JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's University baseball team defeated Rider 12-8 on Thursday afternoon in Game 1 of a three game set. Senior outfielder Anthony Abbatine recorded two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs. He hit his first career home run in the contest as well.

How It Happened
- After three scoreless innings between the sides, Rider struck for two in the third.
- Abbatine hit a two run homer in the fourth to tie things up.
- Rider answered with their own two-run home run in the fifth.
- Freshman infielder Tyler Smith hit an RBI double to score junior infielder Joey Vitiello, who rounded three bases to score the run and get the inning started. Junior catcher Michael Cardone recorded two more RBIs in the inning, while junior infielder Jeff Masicotte and graduate infielder Chris Marquart also recorded an RBI in the inning.
