JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's University baseball team lost to Niagara 19-14 on Sunday afternoon. Graduate outfielder Tom Buckman had a season high six RBIs in the contest.

How It Happened
- Niagara struck for one run in the first. They followed that up with four in the second.
- With the bases loaded in the second, senior outfielder Anthony Abbatine hit a two-run double to right field to put the Peacocks on the board. Buckman followed that up with a sacrifice fly to left field to score freshman catcher Cole Watson. In the next at bat, freshman infielder Tyler Smith hit an RBI single up the middle to score Abbatine to cap off a four run inning.
- The Purple Eagles scored one run in the third.
- Niagara scored two runs in the fourth.
- Smith hit a sacrifice fly to deep right field in the fourth to score Abbatine.
- The Purple Eagles struck again in the fifth, scoring five in the fifth.
- Graduate infielder Chris Marquart grounded out into a double play in the fifth, but scored junior infielder Sam Haney on the play. Abbatine would follow that up with another hit, which scored junior infielder Jeff Massicotte. Buckman batted next, and hit a bases clearing double to score two runs.
- Niagara scored one run in the sixth.
- Freshman catcher Cole Watson grounded out in the sixth for the second out, but he brought home junior infielder Joey Vitiello in the process. Buckman would hit a single later in the inning to score Marquart.
- Niagara struck for four runs in the seventh.
- Vitiello hit an RBI single in the seventh to score sophomore infielder Collin Jensen.
- The Purple Eagles scored once in the ninth.
- Buckman hit a two run single in the ninth.
