JERSEY CITY, N.J. (March 16, 2022) - The Saint Peter's university softball team lost two games against Wagner in the teams first home games of the season. Junior infielder Cara McNulty drove in all three runs for the team across the two games.
Top Performers
- McNulty hit a two-run home run in Game 1, tying the game for the Peacocks at 3-3. She recorded three RBI's, scored a run, and had one hit.
- Olyvia Smith recorded three hits on the day.
- Dakota Pitts scored two runs and had two hits.
- Brandi Feeny recorded a hit.
How It Happened (Game One)
- Smith led the game off with a single to get the Peacocks going early.
- The Bison struck back with a pair of runs in the fourth on a walk, a double, a sac fly and a wild pitch.
- After Pitts hit a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch, McNulty hit an RBI Sac fly to right field to score Pitts to put the Peacocks on the board. Wagner led 2-1.
- With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Pitts got on base with a single. McNulty was up next, and she hit a two run shot to deep center to tie the game up at three.
- After being deadlocked at three after seven innings, Wagner was able to score in the top of the eighth to win the game.
How It Happened (Game Two)
- Smith again got a leadoff single for the Peacocks to open up Game 2.
- Taylor Rondon got off to a solid start, not allowing a run through three innings.
- Smith registered another single in her second at bat, which came in the fourth inning.
- Saint Peter's struggled at the plate, not being able to record any more hits, as they dropped Game 2 6-0 to the Seahawks.

- Not the result we wanted but it was great to get our first outing at The Shack. Thank you to all those who worked hard to get it ready.
- We had a great effort in Game 1 with another huge hit by Cara McNulty. We didn't finish the way we wanted to but the team competed hard.
