JERSEY CITY, NJ- The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team tied Canisius 0-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Game Notes
- The Golden Griffins came out firing, as graduate goalkeeper Guillem Badens Mecho was forced to make three saves in the first 11 minutes to keep the score tied.
- Senior defender Tom Climpson had a shot inside the box saved in the 30th minute.
- As play got more physical, each team struggled to create scoring chances as the score was tied 0-0 at the break.
- Freshman midfielder Reiss Skeen and junior midfielder Brian Neves had shot attempts in the 58th minute and 62nd minute respectively that were saved.
- Badenes Mecho made a world class save off of a Canisius volley in the 73rd minute.
- The Golden Griffins thought they scored the winning goal in the 87th minute as they tucked the ball into the net. The goal was originally called a good goal, but after a minute of discussion with the sideline official, the goal was disallowed due to goalkeeper interference leading up to the goal.
- Neither team came close to scoring in the last few minutes, as time would run out on a 0-0 draw.

- The Peacocks registered ten shots. Skeen led the team with three. Junior forward Antonio Green had two. Climpson, Neves, graduate defender Marco Torino, fifth year forward Matt Hoyt, and senior midfielder Roodlenscky Charles each had one.
