Men’s Soccer Remains Undefeated at Home Following Draw with Manhattan

Game Notes

  • The Peacocks wasted no time getting on the board, as Charles scored the game's first goal in the ninth minute. Skeen played a free kick in from midfield that was flicked on by Climpson. The ball landed with Charles and he tucked it in the back of the net to put Saint Peter's up 1-0.
  • Manhattan answered quickly, tying the game at 1-1 in the 15th minute off of a corner kick.
  • Graduate goalkeeper Guillem Badenes Mecho made a save right away off of the ensuing kickoff to keep things tied.
  • Sophomore forward Mikkel Fodstad had an attempt saved in the 30th minute.
  • The score would remain tied heading into the break.
  • The second half was extremely physical, as three yellow cards and two red cards were issued.
  • Freshman forward Tim Strele had a chance to break the deadlock in the 66th minute off of a brilliant feed from fifth year forward Matt Hoyt, but Strele missed it high.
  • The score would finish 1-1 as the Peacocks are now 2-0-3 at home this season.

Thought's From The Manager - Julian Richens

  • Good MAAC game against an excellent Manhattan team. I thought we battled properly for 90 minutes there and had a great chance to win the game midway through the half.
  • Great to see Rood score his first collegiate goal - they are special moments to see.
  • We'll recover quickly and get ready for another tough MAAC rival game on Saturday.

Up Next

  • The Peacocks are back at home to take on Rider on Saturday, October 29th. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
