JERSEY CITY, NJ- The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team tied Rider 2-2 on Saturday afternoon. Fifth year forward Matt Hoyt and sophomore forward Mikkel Fodstad scored for the Peacocks.
Game Notes
- Rider jumped out to an early lead, scoring in the fourth minute.
- Fodstad's first chance of the game came in the 25th minute, but his attempt was stopped.
- Hoyt got on the board in the 32nd minute to tie the game. He pounced on a loose ball in the box off of a Peacock throw and buried the ball into the right side of the net.
- The score would remain 1-1 at the break.
- Fodstad gave the Peacocks the lead after an amazing effort to create a chance. On a 1v1, he was able to beat his man and put the ball into the bottom left corner.
- Rider kept putting on the pressure, and were granted a penalty kick off a Peacock handball with 22 seconds left in the game. The Broncs converted and the score would finish 2-2.

- Charles' goal was the first of his career.
- Fodstad's goal was his second of the season.
- The Peacocks registered nine shots. Freshman midfielder Reiss Skeen paced the Peacocks with three. Fodstad and senior defender Tom Climpson each had two.
- Saint Peter's recorded five shots on target. Skeen and Fodstad had two, while Hoyt had one.
- Graduate goalkeeper Guillem Badenes Mecho made four saves.
- Skeen, Hoyt, Climpson and senior midfielder Roodlenscky Charles were issued yellow cards.
