Things to Know Before the Match
All-time Series against the Terriers
  • Since first meeting back in 1984, Saint Peter's and St. Francis Brooklyn are deadlocked in a 10-10 tie all-time.
  • Despite the knotted-up series, the Peacocks have dropped six straight to the Terriers since the 2013 campaign.
  • This won't be the first time this season the sides meet, having already played each other at the season-opening DSU Hornet Invite, where SPU fell 3-1 in the match.
  • SPU's last victory over SFC occurred on September 17, 2013 by way of a 3-1 win.
  • The last time the Peacocks won on the road in the series was back in 2010, earning a pair of 3-1 victories in both meetings.
Scouting St. Francis Brooklyn
  • SFC brings a 2-5 overall mark into the meeting.
  • The Terriers two wins have come over SPU and Binghamton (3-1).
  • This will be SFC's second home contest of the year, with a defeat to Hofstra in their home opener on August 31.
Alvarado All-Tournament Selection
  • After leading Saint Peter's attack over its three matches this past weekend, senior Alanis Alvarado was selected to the Red Flash Classic All-Tournament Team.
  • In SPU's three contests in Loretta, PA, Alvarado recorded a team-best 16 kills, and added 13 digs, and three assists to her stat line.
  • She posted a team-high of 11 kills on Saturday against Big East opponent Georgetown, and finished second on the lineup in digs with eight against Saint Francis on Friday.
Big Blocks
  • Following the first week of the season, first year middle blocker Suzzanne Bigelow posted one of the best block outputs in the nation and the top marks in the MAAC.
  • The rookie from Glendale, AZ amassed 11 total blocks (8 ba, 3 bs), logging a 1.57 blocks per set average through three games, both of which ranked first in the conference and 40th in the NCAA.
  • Through two weeks, Bigelow still sits atop of the MAAC leaderboard, with 17.0 total blocks and an average of 1.06 blocks per set.
Up Next
  • Saint Peter's will head up I95 North to Providence, Rhode Island for the Friar Classic, its final multi-team tournament of the season, this weekend.
  • The Peacocks will battle host Providence on Friday, September 10 at 7pm, followed by a pair of matches on Saturday, September 11, against Fairleigh Dickinson (11am) and Binghamton (3:30pm).
