BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY- The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team lost to St. Francis Brooklyn (SFC) by a score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn Heights, New York.
Game Notes:
- Freshman midfielder Alex Costa had a good look at goal in the 29th minute, but his attempt was saved by the Terrier goalie. This was the only shot for Saint Peter's in the first half.
- SFC quickly came down the other way and scored in the 30th minute. The Terriers took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
- Sophomore midfielder Matt Ellis had a look from outside the box just after halftime, but his attempt was saved.
- SFC added another goal in the 66th minute, scoring off a loose ball off a corner, to make the score 2-0.
- Senior forward Matt Hoyt had a chance off a free kick with little time left in the game, but his attempt was saved. The score finished 2-0.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Peacocks registered three shots, one shot each for Ellis, Hoyt and Costa.
- Graduate goalkeeper Guillem Badenes Mecho started and made two saves in 45 minutes of play.
- Junior goalkeeper Herman Wulff made four saves in 45 minutes of play.
- Junior defender Tom Climpson was issued a yellow card.
- Freshman midfielder Jamie Hanson got his first career start.
