Williams Named MAAC Player of the Week

  • Graduate guard Kendrea Williams has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week for women's basketball.
  • Williams scored her 2,000th career point in the win over Canisius on Sunday. She scored a season high 27 points, matched her career high in rebounds with eight, and recorded three steals. Williams also played a big factor against Niagara, scoring 12 points and getting a career high four steals.. The seventh leading scorer in the country amongst active players helped the Peacocks sweep the Buffalo road trip for the first time since 2002.
  • Appearing and starting in all ten games, Williams 14.0 points per game, which is second on the team. She is 144 points away from becoming the 24th Peacock in history to reach 1,000 career points at Saint Peter's. Williams is also second in the MAAC in free-throw percentage, shooting 87.2% from the stripe on the season.

Historic Weekend

  • Conference play opened this weekend, with the Peacocks defeating Niagara and Canisius to start 2-0 in conference play for the second straight season.
  • The Peacocks beat Niagara and Canisius on the road in the same season for the first time since 2002.
  • Last season, the Peacocks made their way to the conference championship, achieving that feat for the first time since 2002. The Peacocks will be looking to build off of that success this season.
