First Serve
 
  • These matches are the third and fourth of a homestand to open Run Baby Run Arena inside the renovated Yanitelli Center.
  • The Peacocks are in the hunt for their first MAAC win of the year and will get rematches against the first two teams they played during this conference slate.
  • Saint Peter's had a strong final weekend before the MAAC slate began, earning a victory Sept. 11 over Fairleigh Dickinson University, 3-1, at the Friar Classic in Providence, RI.
  • The Peacocks are coming off two tightly-contested matches last weekend, falling 3-1 to Marist and Siena. 

Spectator Policy
  • Fans/guests will be permitted to attend indoor athletics events at the Yanitelli Center.
  • All guests ages 12 and older must provide proof of a completed series of World Health Organization (WHO)-approved COVID-19 vaccination.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Full vaccination is achieved two weeks following a person's second dose of a two-dose vaccine series such as Pfizer and Moderna, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson.
  • Masks are required at all events inside the Yanitelli Center regardless of vaccination status.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be demonstrated by displaying a photo or hard copy of a CDC vaccination card, NJ DOCKET app, New York State Excelsior App, or an official vaccination record. We ask that you have such proof readily available prior to arriving at the venue.
  • Anyone 18 years or older must also present an appropriate ID with proof of vaccination, which must contain the name of the individual, and a photo of the individual or the individual's date of birth. Examples of acceptable forms of identification include but are not limited to: a driver's license, non-driver government ID card, passport and/or school or work-issued ID card. 
 
Things to Know Before the Match

History with Fairfield and Quinnipiac
  • The Peacocks meet Fairfield for the 50th time in a matchup that dates back to 1985. The Stags lead the all-time series, 44-5.
  • Saint Peter's last beat Fairfield in the 2010 regular season finale, with the Peacocks earning a 3-1 victory at home.
  • Quinnipiac owns a 12-5 all-time series advantage against Saint Peter's dating back to their first meeting in 2007.
  • The Bobcats have won eight straight since the Peacocks last defeated them in 2015 -- a 3-1 Saint Peter's home victory powered by a 12-kill match from senior right-side hitter Lauren Behrens.
Scouting Report
  • The Stags are the last unbeaten team in MAAC play, opening the conference slate with five consecutive wins, including a 3-0 victory against the Peacocks in Connecticut on Sept. 19.
  • Fairfield's leading attacker is junior outside hitter KJ Johnson, who has tallied a conference-leading 248 kills on a .322 hitting percentage. Her 552 attacks are nearly double that of the next most on the team.
  • Quinnipiac is coming off a 3-1 win over Siena on Wednesday night to move back to 3-4 in conference play. The Bobcats defeated Saint Peter's 3-0 in its MAAC opener on Sept. 18.
  • Senior Nicole Legg presents a threat out of the middle for Quinnipiac, averaging a MAAC second-best .364 hitting percentage with 107 kills this season.
Senior Showcase
  • Outside hitter Alanis Alvarado had a season-high 17 kills Saturday against Marist and tallied double-doubles in each of last weekend's matches. She ranks seventh in the conference in points per set (3.11) and eighth in kills per set (2.8).
  • Graduate setter Wildalys Soto is seventh in the MAAC with 264 assists this season, coming off a season-high 36 assists against Marist and 31 assists against Siena.
  • Outside hitter Angeleyshka Curbelo is coming off her first double-double of the season last Saturday against Marist, tallying 10 kills and 12 digs.
  • Middle hitter Stephanie Rivera had a season-high 10 kills Saturday against Marist, finding the floor at a .381 hitting percentage on 21 attacks.
Underclassmen Impact 
  • Freshman outside hitter Lily Barnhill had a career-high 11 kills against Siena last time out, besting her previous season-high of four kills. 
  • Sophomore libero Alwen Pila, who leads the team with 10 service aces, had a career-high three aces in last Sunday's match against Siena. Pila also ranks ninth in the MAAC with 3.92 digs per set, tallying 153 digs so far this season.
  • Freshman middle blocker Suzzanne Bigelow matched her career-high six total blocks last Saturday against Marist and ranks eighth in the conference with 0.83 blocks per set.
