First Serve
  • Saint Peter's women's volleyball is back in conference play after a defeat against New Hampshire on Thursday night.
  • The Peacocks will get a rematch with Rider after falling to the Broncs, 3-0, in Lawrenceville on Sept. 25.
  • This is the second night match in Run Baby Run Arena after four matinee starts to open the newly-renovated facility.

Spectator Policy
  • Fans/guests will be permitted to attend indoor athletics events at the Yanitelli Center.
  • All guests ages 12 and older must provide proof of a completed series of World Health Organization (WHO)-approved COVID-19 vaccination.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Full vaccination is achieved two weeks following a person's second dose of a two-dose vaccine series such as Pfizer and Moderna, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson.
  • Masks are required at all events inside the Yanitelli Center regardless of vaccination status.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be demonstrated by displaying a photo or hard copy of a CDC vaccination card, NJ DOCKET app, New York State Excelsior App, or an official vaccination record. We ask that you have such proof readily available prior to arriving at the venue.
  • Anyone 18 years or older must also present an appropriate ID with proof of vaccination, which must contain the name of the individual, and a photo of the individual or the individual's date of birth. Examples of acceptable forms of identification include but are not limited to: a driver's license, non-driver government ID card, passport and/or school or work-issued ID card. 
 
Things to Know Before the Match

History with Rider
  • The Peacocks and the Broncs have played 48 times in their history dating back to 1984, with Rider holding a 27-21 advantage.
  • Rider has won four consecutive meetings in the series.
  • Saint Peter's last defeated the Broncs during the 2018 regular season finale in a five setter at the Yanitelli Center. The Peacocks were bolstered by 13 kills from Angeleyshka Curbelo, 16 digs from Alanis Alvarado and 22 assists from Wildalys Soto.
Scouting Report
  • Rider is second in the conference after a hot start to the year when they rattled off seven wins in its first eight conference games.
  • The Broncs have recovered from back-to-back conference losses to Fairfield and Niagara, taking down Canisius, 3-2, and Columbia, 3-1, in their last two games.
  • Rider junior opposite Morgan Romano is second in the MAAC with 300 kills on the season.
  • The Broncs have the conference's top two players in service aces, with Romano topping the MAAC with 32 aces on the season and senior setter Anilee Sher following her up with 29 aces.

  • Graduate setter Wildalys Soto is averaging eight assists per set in the eight matches since Oct. 2, bumping her conference sixth-best assists per set average to 6.92.
  • Senior outside hitter Alanis Alvarado is eighth in the conference in both kills per set (2.87) and points per set (3.16)
  • Sophomore libero Alwen Pila is 10th in the conference with 3.61 digs per set. She's also been productive at the service line, tallying a conference eighth-best 18 aces.
  • Freshman middle blocker Suzzanne Bigelow is eighth in the conference with 43 total blocks.
Breakthrough performances
  • Sophomore middle hitter Brianna Jones matched her career high last weekend with five total blocks last weekend against Canisius. She also is averaging 1.11 kills per set in the last three matches, topping her season average of 0.63 kills per set coming into that slate.
  • Sophomore outside hitter Skylee Nelson's kills per set average is up to 1.56 after averaging two kills per set in the last three matches.
