Women’s Soccer Loses Hard-Fought Game to Monmouth Saturday Night

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team lost to Monmouth University by a score of 1-0 on Saturday night.

Game Notes:

• Freshman forward Julianna Jatkola registered a shot on goal less than a minute into the game, but her attempt was saved.
• Freshman goalkeeper Annabelle Adams made a big save in the 29th minute to keep the game tied.
• Saint Peter's continued to apply the pressure as the half went on, but the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
• Monmouth scored off of a corner kick in the 75th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
• Despite the numerous Peacock attempts to score the tying goal, they were unable to equalize.

Inside the Numbers:

• The Peacocks registered seven shots. Junior forward Mya Daniels led the team with two.
• Daniels and Jatkola each had one shot on goal.
• Adams made three saves in the game, as she continues to lead all MAAC rookies in that category.

• The Peacocks return home on Wednesday, October 6, as they host hOURglass rival Rider with a scheduled kickoff for 3 p.m.
