Women’s Soccer Loses Against Manhattan on Saturday

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team lost to Manhattan College by a score of 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. 

Game Notes:

  • Freshman goalkeeper Annabelle Adams was called into action early, making a nice save in the eighth minute to keep the score tied.
  • The Peacocks best chance of the first half came from the foot of senior midfielder Kinlee Bruns, whose shot from distance went high.
  • Adams made another save in the 40th minute to keep the score tied at the half.
  • Manhattan came right out of half time and scored in the 49th minute.
  • Saint Peter's best chance in the second half was a half-volley attempt from junior midfielder Madison Greenberg that went high.
  • The Peacocks were unable to tie it late.

Inside the Numbers:

  • The Peacocks registered five shots. Greenberg led the team with two.
  • Adams made six saves as she continues to lead all MAAC rookie goalkeepers.
  • Eight Peacocks played the full 90 minutes.

Up Next:

  • The Peacocks go on the road to Fairfield, Connecticut to take on Fairfield on Wednesday October 20. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
