Opening Word:

The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team returns to Jersey City on Thursday (Feb. 6) to host the current top team in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), as the Peacocks welcome hOURglass Rival Rider to town. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Peacocks most recently fell to Manhattan on the road by means of a narrow 68-64 setback this past Saturday.
Redshirt junior Taiah Thornton notched her fourth 20-plus-point performance of the season, scoring a team-high 22 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field.
Kendrea Williams remained consistent for the Peacocks in the contest, recording her fifth game in six appearances in which she has hit double digits, dropping 18 points against the Jaspers.

History with the Broncs:

The Peacocks hold a 42-25 advantage in the all-time history of the two sides, as the teams prepare for their 68th meeting on Thursday night.
The last matchup between Saint Peter's and Rider came on Feb. 15 of last year, in which the Broncs took a 78-43 win in Jersey City.
The Peacocks will be looking to snap an eight-game losing streak against the Broncs, having last won 62-54 during the opening round of the 2015 MAAC basketball championship.
A win Thursday night would mark the Peacocks' first victory over the Broncs at the Yanitelli Center since Jan. 2, 2015, when the team won 50-49.
