Second-Half Rally Propels Campbell Past Women's Soccer Sunday Afternoon

Three second-half goals lead Camels past the Peacocks

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team fell by a 3-0 margin to Campbell University on Sunday afternoon. After a scoreless first half by both teams, the Camels were able to capitalize on successful passing in the second half.
 
Game Notes
  • Neither side could find the back of the net in the first half, with Campbell tallying nine shots compared to the Peacocks' three shots.
  • Camels senior midfielder Katie Lockwood was able to net the first two goals for Campbell, scoring first off a feed from from Jessica Donald and chipping the ball over freshman goalkeeper Haley Martin at the 60 minute mark.
  • Lockwood and Donald would connect again for the following goal at 70', when Donald sent a cross to the oncoming Lockwood, who would send the ball past Martin for a goal on the far post.
  • Campbell freshman Ashleigh Harris sealed the game for the Camels in the 85th minute after a double assist from Sydney Towns and Taryn Phillips. 
Inside the Numbers
  • Haley Martin got the starting nod for the second game in a row, tallying eight saves in the match, with six of those coming in the first half.
  • Campbell was able to fire off 16 shots throughout the game while Saint Peter's sent nine shots off the boot.
  • The Camels recorded 11 shots on goal compared to the Peacocks' four.
