PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Saint Peter's softball team lost both games in its Thursday afternoon double-header at Drexel. The team lost 10-3 in the first game followed by losing 18-0 in the second game.
Game Notes vs. Drexel:
Game 1:
- Drexel scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning.
- The Dragons scored four more runs in the second inning, stretching their lead to 5-0.
- Alyssa Adams hit a homerun down the left field line early in the third inning to put the Peacocks on the board 5-1.
- In the third inning, Drexel scored another run off a double to left cente to jump back out to a five run lead, 6-1.
- Katie Sciglimpaglia singled to shortstop allowing Alina Guevera to score a run in the fourth inning, 6-2.
- The next play, Alyssa Adams walked with the bases loaded, bringing in the third run for the Peacocks.
- The Dragons scored three more runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth inning, winning 10-3.
Game 2:
- Drexel started off the game scoring eight runs in the first inning.
- In the second inning the Dragon scored two more runs, leading 10-0.
- In the fourth inning, Drexel scored eight more runs, winning the game 18-0.
- Barbara Verrastro had the only hit for the Peacocks.
