Doug Edert led all-scorers with 21 points

CALDWELL, NJ – In the final exhibition of the season for the Saint Peter's men's basketball team, the Peacocks handled Caldwell University, 88-67 on Sunday afternoon. Five Peacocks scored in double figures, led by Doug Edert's 21-point performance.

How it Happened
  • Saint Peter's jumped all over the Cougars early, taking a double-digit lead (16-6), less than five minutes into the contest following a stepback three from Nazeer Bostick. Bostick had the early hot hand, scoring eight of the 16 points.
  • The Peacocks maintained the double-figure lead until the 8:41 mark, when Caldwell cut the Peacocks' lead to 25-19.
  • An 11-0 Peacock response ensued which began with a Matthew Lee layup, pushing the lead to 36-19.
  • Saint Peter's took a 45-30 lead into the break, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from behind the arc and over 66 percent from the field. Three different Peacocks made up the perfect three-point field goal percentage, Edert (3-for-3), Bostick (2-for-2), and Dallas Watson (1-for-1).
  • Caldwell quickly cut the Peacocks' lead to 10-points early in the half, but again Saint Peter's was able to respond, outscoring the Cougars 14-7 over the next seven minutes to extend its lead to 65-48.
  • Saint Peter's would take the largest lead of the afternoon with 3:46 to play, going ahead by 23 points (82-59) on Edert's fifth made trifecta of the day.
