Women’s Soccer Falls to hOURglass Rival Rider in Lawrenceville Wednesday

Peacocks concede a 1-0 loss to the Broncs on Wednesday night

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to hOURglass rival Rider in a Wednesday night Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tilt at Bob Cohen Field. 
 
Game Notes
  • The first 15 minutes of play showed both teams fighting for control of the game, with Saint Peter's firing off one shot compared to Rider's two.
  • Rider would go ahead with the game's only goal in the 17th minute of the match.
  • From there on out, the Broncs used stout defense to hold off the Peacocks for the remaining 73 minutes of action.
Inside the Numbers
  • Despite a persistent Rider offense, junior goalkeeper Victoria Scarratt had a strong showing in the goal on Wednesday, registering four saves while limiting the Broncs' offense at every turn.
  • The Broncs outshot the Peacocks, 18-6, on Wednesday, with five being on target compared to one by the Peacocks.
  • Freshman Chloe Wilkinson recorded the lone shot on goal for the Peacocks.
