Women’s Volleyball Drops Match at Niagara

NIAGARA UNIV., NY – The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team ended the weekend in Buffalo with a defeat at Niagara University. The Peacocks dropped the match in three sets (11-25, 21-25, 19-25).

Match Recap

• Sunday's match was all Niagara as the Peacocks failed to snag a set and only held three leads in the match.
• The Peacocks suffered an 11-25 defeat in the opening set.
• Despite having their best frame in the second set, the Peacocks never led. After falling behind 12-2, Saint Peter's outscored Niagara 17-8 to cut the deficit to 19-20.
• The Purple Eagles would score the next 5 out of 7 set points to take the set 25-21 from the Peacocks.
• In the final frame of the ledger, Saint Peter's fell 19-25 to drop the match.

 
Inside the Numbers

• Wildalys Soto recorded her third straight double-double and team-leading eighth of the season, while Angeleyshka Curbelo added her fourth double-double on the year. Soto posted 24 assists and a game-high 18 digs and Curbelo finished the game with 11 kills and 12 digs.
• Offensively, 23 of the Saint Peter's 29 kills were produced by Alanis Alvarado (12) and Curbelo (11).
• Defensively, Karla Seda pitched in with 10 digs to go along with Soto and Curbelo.
