Women’s Soccer Drops Final Regular Season Game at Manhattan

RIVERDALE, NY - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team concluded its 2019 season Wednesday night in a hard-fought match at Manhattan. Despite a strong showing on both sides of the pitch, the Peacocks fell 2-0 to the Jaspers in wet conditions at Gaelic Park Athletic Complex.
 
Game Notes

• The Jaspers were able to get on the board early in the match when Shelby Jones scored Manhattan's first goal of the night in the 25th minute. 
• The Peacocks kept the score unchanged until the 52nd minute of the match, when Manhattan's Bri DeLeo found the back of the net for the Jaspers' second goal of the night.
• The Peacocks fought until the very end, however, gaining the advantage in corner kicks in the second half with three to Manhattan's one, and sending off four shots in the final 45 minutes.

Inside the Numbers

• Sophomore forward Julianna Murrill led the offensive pursuit for the Peacocks on Wednesday night, sending both of her shots taken at the net, while junior midfielder Isabel Fernandez led the team in shots with four, while one found the mark.
• The Peacocks recorded 12 shots on the night with six being on goal, compared to Manhattan's 19 and eight.
• Saint Peter's keeper Victoria Scarratt recorded six stops in goal with four coming in the second half of action.
• The Peacocks finish 2019 with an overall record of 3-13-1 and a MAAC record of 1-8-1.
