Women’s Volleyball Falls to Quinnipiac on Sunday

JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Saint Peter's University women's volleyball team suffered its seventh consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) defeat on Sunday, falling to the Quinnipiac Bobcats in straight sets (18-25, 20-25, 12-25).

Match Notes

• Saint Peter's was the aggressor early on during the matches' opening set. The Peacocks used three straight points to take a 14-11 lead midway through the set. After a 15-15 tie, the Bobcats closed the set on a 10-3 run to win 25-18 and go ahead 1-0 over Saint Peter's.
• Saint Peter's fell behind 4-10 in the second set, but the Peacocks powered back to cut the deficit to 10-12. Despite the push, the Peacocks comeback attempt was unsuccessful as the team never found the lead in the set and ultimately dropped the frame 20-25.
• The third set, which proved to be the final set, was all Quinnipiac. The Peacocks trailed the entire ledger and eventually suffered a 12-25 setback.

Inside the Numbers

• Angeleyshka Curbelo led the way for the Peacocks with seven kills, Stephanie Rivera was second on the team with six kills, and Alanis Alvarado and Danielle Lopez each recorded five kills. Wildalys Soto paced the attack with 21 assists.
• Karla Seda led the defense with a game-high 20 digs.
