Kicking Things Off

The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team will host MAAC foe Canisius College on Saturday, October 12 at Joseph J. Jaroschak Field in a 2 p.m. matchup.
The Peacocks are coming off their second consecutive overtime conference win after defeating defending MAAC champions Rider 2-1 in a double overtime victory on Wednesday, October 9.
Junior midfielder Alex Garcia and teammate Jordan Jowers each notched goals for Saint Peter's in the win over the Broncs.
Garcia's goal came in the 81st minute off a loose ball in the Broncs' box, tying the game with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation.
With six seconds left in the second overtime of the match, Jowers would seal the game for the Peacocks on a penalty kick, which the junior fired into the bottom left corner of the net past an outstretched Rider goalkeeper.

History with the Golden Griffins

Wednesday's match marks the 30th meeting between the Peacocks and the Golden Griffins, after first meeting in 1990.
Saints Peter's holds an overall record of 12-16-1 against Canisius, with the exception of 2011 when the match was cancelled due to weather.
The last matchup between the two sides came in 2018, when the Saint Peter's secured the 1-0 victory in Buffalo.
