Women’s Volleyball Earns Second Conference Sweep of the Season

Volleyball swept Siena (3-0) at home for their second MAAC sweep of the season.

JERSEY CITY, NJ- The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team swept Siena on Sunday afternoon, winning in straight sets for their second MAAC win of the season. 
 
Game Notes vs. Manhattan :
  • The Peacocks (4-16, 2-5 MAAC) beat Siena in straight sets, winning (25-12) (25-19) (25-22).
  • The team dominated the Saints in the first set jumping out to a 20-8 lead before winning the set 25-12.
  •  After winning the first set, the Peacocks pulled out a tight second set, winning (25-19).
  • In the final set, Saint Peter's came back after trailing by nine points (7-16) to outscore Siena 18-6 and earn the contest sweep.
Inside the Numbers:
  • Karen Ramiu was just shy of a double double with a team high of 17 kills and 8 digs. 
  • Alanis Alvarado and Angeleyshka Curbelo both recorded seven kills for the match.
  • Alvarado and Ramiu added five kills to help the team.  
  • Angelee Ng dished out 31 assists against the Saints.
  • Alvarado and Karla Seda earned a team high of 11 digs for the match. 
  • The win was the second conference victory and sweep of the season after defeating Manhattan on September 19.
  • This was the first home sweep for the Peacocks since October 10, 2010 when that team swept Rider. 
  • The two sweeps are the most for the program in nine years, last earning multiple sweeps during the 2009 campaign.
