Jowers Nets First Goal of the Season in Home Defeat to Saint Joseph’s

The Peacocks gave up two second half goals resulting in the 3-1 loss

JERSEY CITY, NJJordan Jowers tallied his first goal of the season, but the Saint Peter's men's soccer team gave up three unanswered goals, resulting in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Saint Joseph's on Tuesday night at Lincoln Turf Field in Jersey City. The Peacocks' record falls to 0-2 in the young season.
 
Game Notes
  • In the 10th minute of action, Jowers stole a pass attempt from Saint Joseph's in the box, giving him a clean shot into a goalie-less net giving the Peacocks a 1-0 edge.
  • The possessions remained even as neither team took control offensively.
  • 24 minutes in, Saint Joseph's Leon Maric took his man one-on-one and beat him giving him a clear shot that found the back of the net for the equalizer.
  • Following the game tying goal, Saint Joseph's became the aggressor, controlling the possessions and taking a 6-1 shots advantage to end the half.
  • Garrett Lyons scored the go-ahead goal for Saint Joseph's after receiving a throw in from Jarod Ramses five minutes into the second half.
