Box Score 2 BALTIMORE, MD - The Saint Peter's softball team dropped both games in the first day of the UMBC Dawg Pound Tournament. The Peacocks were defeated by Drexel in the first game 11-0 and fell in the second game 10-2 to La Salle.
"We had a few bright spots today," said head coach Chris Stelma. "A tough day overall, but we had a few young players get chances today and do well."
Game 1 vs. Drexel
Drexel took the Peacocks in five innings. Harley Connors had two hits, hitting a single in the bottom of the second and a single to second base in the bottom of the fifth. The Peacocks dropped the game 11-0.
Game 2 vs. La Salle
La Salle took the Peacocks in five innings. The Peacocks didn't score until the top of the fourth inning. Nicole Feoli homered to left field completing the first run for the team. Connors then singled up center field and Michelle Kugelmann advanced to second which allowed Theamaris Ramirez to score. The Peacocks dropped the game 10-2.
Next up
The Peacocks will continue play in the UMBC Dawg Pound Tournament on Sunday, March 18. The team will face Sacred Heart at 9 a.m. then play La Salle at 1:30 p.m.
