Men’s Soccer’s Comeback Comes Up Just Short in Loss to Quinnipiac

Jordan Jowers and Dominic Laws each netted one goal in the 3-2 loss

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's men's soccer team fell to the Quinnipiac Bobcats 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Jaroschak Field. The Peacocks were down by two goals twice and pulled to within one goal both times, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Game Notes
  • The Peacocks (4-6-1, 1-2 MAAC) were quick on the attack to start the game, with Jordan Jowers getting a shot off in the second minute.
  • Quinnipiac (4-4-1, 2-0 MAAC) found the back of the net first on an unassisted goal by Rashawn Dally in the fourth minute to put the Bobcats on top.
  • The Bobcats went up 2-0 on a Colton Grob goal, who rocketed the ball into the top left corner from outside the box.
  • Saint Peter's got on the board in the 36th minute after Steven Parry took a shot on goal that was deflected by the Quinnipiac goalkeeper and tapped in by Dominic Laws for his fifth goal of the season.
  • Quinnipiac scored again in the 71st minute to take a 3-1 lead.
  • Jowers put the Peacocks back to within one in the 86th minute off of a penalty kick after a yellow card on the Bobcats inside the box.
  • Jowers got off one final shot off three minutes later but the Peacocks were unable to complete the comeback, falling 3-2.
