Women’s Volleyball Wins Three Straight Sets to Set Up Win Over Canisius

The Peacock’s edged Canisius in four sets to conclude the weekend

JERSEY CITY- The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team beat Canisius in four sets on Sunday afternoon to secure the team's third MAAC win and sixth overall win of the season. Both marks are the most for the program since the 2014 season.
 
Game Notes vs. Canisius: 
  • Saint Peter's (6-18 3-17 MAAC), avenged an early season loss to Canisius College (9-10, 7-3 MAAC), winning in four sets (16-25) (25-17) (25-22) (25-15) after previously falling to the Golden Griffins in four sets three weeks ago.
  • The Peacocks started out slow, losing the first set (16-25).
  • After only scoring 16 points in the first set, the team finished strong dominating the next three sets winning 25-17, 25-22, and 25-15.
  • The Peacocks snapped a 16 match losing streak, having not beaten the Golden Griffins since October 2, 2010.
Inside the Numbers:
  • The Peacocks had three players record a double double against Canisius.
  • Alanis Alvarado recorded her seventh double double, finishing with 14 kills and 22 digs.
  • Karen Ramiu recorded her fourth double double of the season with 19 kills and 13 digs.
  • Angelee Ng had her sixth double double this season, finishing with 43 assists and 10 digs. 
  • Kara Seda added 23 digs for today's match.
  • Angeleyshka Curbelo added 14 digs for todays victory.
