With the win, Saint Peter's (5-6-2, 2-2-1) MAAC point total improved to seven, keeping the team in a race for a playoff spot at the midway point of conference play.

- Just 52 seconds into the game, Niagara's keeper left the goal to challenge a shot leaving the net open for Dominic Laws who got a shot off that was saved by a Niagara defender.
- On the rebound, Matt Hoyt sent a blast into the empty net, leading to a 1-0 lead for the Peacocks.
- Five minutes later, a yellow card by the Niagara keeper led to a penalty kick for Jordan Jowers, which he took advantage of, sending a shot to the near post missing the outreached hands of the goalie to extend the lead to 2-0.
