Box Score LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena defeated Saint Peter's 7-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer opener for both teams on Saturday.
Kelly Jamison (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) made seven saves for the Peacocks (1-6-0. 0-1-0 MAAC) in her first start in a Saint Peter's uniform while five different players registered a shot on the afternoon.
Andrea Pereira paced the Saints (5-2-2, 1-0-0 MAAC) with three goals and an assist while Megan Riccardi registered two goals and two assists and Michele Tremblay posted a tally and four helpers in the winning effort.
Siena scored six times in the final 20 minutes of the first half en route to taking the league opener against the Peacocks.
After nearly 26 minutes of scoreless soccer, Pereira scored twice in a span of two minutes and 30 seconds to give the Saints a 2-0 edge. Pereira notched her first goal of the afternoon off feeders from Tremblay and Riccardi at 25:49 before finding the back of the net at 27:19 thanks to assists from Tremblay and Michelle Yaniello.
Pereira returned the favor to Riccardi when she and Allison Clark helped Riccardi record her first tally of the afternoon at 28:07. Pereira completed her hat trick in a span of three minutes 37 seconds thanks to helpers by Yaniello and Tremblay for a 4-0 lead.
After recording three assists, Tremblay got in on the scoring with a tally off an assist from Riccardi at 34:52 before Tremblay and Casey Scott helped complete the scoring in the opening frame when the duo found Riccardi at 41:21 for a 6-0 advantage at halftime.
Lindsay Mulligan capped the win with an unassisted tally at 73:12 to set the final score.
Saint Peter's returns to action when the squad concludes non-conference play at home against Delaware State on Thursday. Match time is 3 p.m.
