Box Score EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette defeated Saint Peter's 5-0 in non-conference women's soccer action on Sunday.
Taylor McLean (Oakville, Ontario/Holy Trinity Catholic) made three saves in the first 45 minutes for the Peacocks (0-3-0) while Kelly Jamison (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) made three saves in the final 45 minutes in her Saint Peter's debut.
Michelle Laz (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Tech.), Genesis Castrellon (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito Academy) and Nicole Rodriguez (Union, N.J./Union) each had a shot on the afternoon for the Peacocks.
Melissa Lynskey posted a hat trick to pace the Leopards while Anna Wissler tallied two markers and an assist in the winning effort.
Lafayette scored three times in the first half and twice in the second half to continue its 16-game unbeaten streak against Saint Peter's.
Wissler got the scoring started with the first two goals of the afternoon. She found the twine off a corner kick off helpers from Olivia Heitz and Gabrielle Lassinger at the 3:39 mark. She then found the twine unassisted from 20-yards out at the 12:29 mark for a 2-0 advantage.
Wissler then helped start Lynskey's natural hat trick when she passed the ball to Kaelin King, who found Lynskey at the 17:44 mark to give the Leopards a 3-0 margin going into the break.
Lynskey had both tallies in the second half, finding the back of the net off a feed from Katie Brannigan at 50:27 and then completed the natural hat trick with her third goal of the day unassisted at 55:53 to set the final score at 5-0.
The Peacocks returns to action on Friday at LIU Brooklyn. Game time is 4 p.m.
