Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Saint Peter's softball team dropped a pair of games at the Rebel Games on Monday.
The Peacocks (1-9) opened up the day with a morning contest against Albany (9-7).
Saint Peter's got on the board first in the opening inning. Following a leadoff hit from Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev. / Coronado), Nicole Feoli (Burlington Twp, N.J. / Burlington) hit a single to advance Harrison to third. Next at-bat, Nicole Olmedo (Chino, Calif. / Chino) grounded into a double play, but Harrison scored in the process for a 1-0 lead.
Albany countered in the bottom of the inning with two runs to take a 2-1 edge. The first score came off a sacrifice fly from Maggie Cocks to send Victoria McFarland home. Later in the inning, Kelly Costello hit a RBI-single to left field to advance the base runner home.
The Danes scored three more runs in the second inning, powered by Marlin Solano who picked up two RBI's on a base hit to right field. Albany scored fourth more times in the fourth inning en route to the 9-1 win.
The second contest of the afternoon came against Horizon-league foe Green Bay (5-9).
Green Bay took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and did not look back. The Phoenix scored a run in the each the third and seventh innings to win the contest 3-0.
Saint Peter's wraps up its time at the Rebel Games tomorrow with rematches against both Albany (10:00 a.m.) and Green Bay (12:15 p.m.).
