Box Score NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.J. – Niagara scored in the 71st minute to edge Saint Peter's 1-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer action on Saturday.
Lauren Solene (Fall City, Wash./Mount Si) made 17 saves for the Peacocks (1-12-0, 1-4-0 MAAC) in the loss.
Eva Bachmann posted the Purple Eagles (7-2-4, 3-1-2 MAAC) off a Haillie Price assist while Claire Feiertag made one stop to earn the shutout in the winning effort.
Niagara broke a scoreless standstill in the 71st minute and held on for the one-goal victory.
Bachmann knocked in a rebounded shot off the foot of Price at the 70:57 mark for the Purple Eagles to give Niagara the 1-0 edge.
Saint Peter's had two shots on the day. Greta Vogel (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Fountain Hills [Scottsdale Community College]) had her shot stopped at the 49:35 mark and Alix Couto (Wall, N.J./Wall) had a scoring chance blocked by the Niagara defense at the 50:09 mark.
The Peacocks return to action on Wednesday at Jaroschak Field against Iona. Match time is 3 p.m.
