NEW YORK, N.Y. – Jamel Presley (Rochester, N.Y./Rahway High School) notched a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles to pace the Peacocks at the NYU Challenge.
Following a first place finish in the preliminaries, Presley notched a time of 8.13 seconds in the final heat.
Raquel Henderson (Ocean Twp, N.J./Ocean Township) placed in the top-10 of the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.54. Shona Potrzuski also notched a top-10 finish in the 500-meter dash, recording a run of 1:17.87.
Sunita Kumar (Munich, Germany/Gymnasium Kirchheim) placed sixth in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.34 seconds. Kumar also finished second in the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.19-meters.
Dexter Valley (West Orange, N.J./West Orange High School) placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.33 seconds. Lance Weaver (Piscataway N.J./Piscataway High School) finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.22.
Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.J./Baldwin) placed third in the weight throw with a distance of 17.10-meters. Bentley Whitfield (Massapequa, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) rounded off the top-five finishes for the Peacocks with his toss of 16.03-meters.
The track and field team returns to action Jan. 30-31 when the team competes in the Metropolitan Championships.
