The Saint Peter's College Peahens (3-22) split a doubleheader with the UMBC Retrievers this afternoon, winning the first game 8-3 and falling in game two 4-3. Nicole Olmedo was 4-8, including two homers with four runs scored and a pair of RBI. Erica Colon picked up the game one victory, pitching a complete game and allowing three runs on four hits, while striking out five. Colon also took the game two loss as UMBC scored a pair of funs in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off with the victory.

In game one, the Peahens struck first in the opening inning as Olmedo hit a solo homer. UMBC then scored a pair in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead. Saint Peter's then exploded in the third, scoring four runs on a sac fly by Kristine Rice, a two-run double by Taylor Corretjer and and RBI groundout by Lexi Gallagher. The Peahens then opened up a 7-2 lead, scoring two more in the fifth on a two run double Carolyn Griffin. UMBC scored a solo run in the fifth, but Saint Peter's scored an unearned run in the seventh to make the final 8-3. Griffien was 3-2 with a run scored and two RBI, Olmedo was 2-4 three runs scored.

In game two, Saint Peter's jumped out to a 3-0 lead scoring, two in the second on a two-run double by Shelby Cogan and one in the third on an Olmedo homer. UMBC scored two in the fifth and then two more in the seventh to walk-off with the victory. Shelby Beaver was 3-4 with a run scored, while Rice was 2-3 with a run scored and Olmedo was 2-4.

Saint Peter's will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Delaware for a doublheader.
