In their last match of the 2012 season, the Saint Peter's women's soccer team (2-17, 1-8 MAAC) dropped a 2-0 decision to the Iona College Gaels (7-8-3, 5-3-1 MAAC) this afternoon.
The Peacocks entered the halftime break with the score locked at 0, but the hosts managed to break the tie on a marker by Samantha Fiorenso in the 64th minute. The Gaels added an insurance goal in the box by Melissa Frederick in the last ten minutes of the contest (82:10).
Overall, Saint Peter's was out-shot by a 19-10 margin. Five of the Peacocks' shots were on target compared to 7 of the Gaels'.
Greta Vogel took 4 of the Peacocks' shots while Shanay Fisher took 2.
The hosts also had the advantage on corner kicks, recording 8 to Saint Peter's 2.
Senior goalie Caitlin Hoffer managed 5 saves in her last match in goal for Saint Peter's.
