Tay Hughes, who was a standout on Saint Peter's women's basketball team from 2014 to 2018, returns to Jersey City to coach the program she once played for. On January 26th, 2018, Hughes passed 1,000 career points against Monmouth. She finished her college career with a total of 1,042 points.

Following her undergraduate studies, she earned a Master's of Public Administration degree at Saint Peter's. In addition to her playing career, Hughes has experience as a grant writer and development professional for various non-profits in the metropolitan area. Last season, she was an assistant coach at Hudson Catholic, where she helped the Hawks reach the Quarterfinal Round of the North Jersey, Non-Public A section.
