Coach Fernando Colon

Fernando Colon

Fernando Colón enters his second season as the head coach of the Saint Peter's women’s volleyball program in 2025-26. In his first season at the helm, he led the Peacocks to a 6-19 record and 4-14 mark in conference, while helping Saint Peter's pick up its first win in nearly two years in the season opener.

A New Jersey native with more than 17 years of coaching experience at the collegiate, club, and high school levels, Colón has a proven track record of success and program building.

Colón arrived at Saint Peter’s in 2024 after a historic season at Ramapo College, where he guided the Roadrunners to a program-best 25-2 record in his first year. Under his leadership, Ramapo captured its first-ever NJAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for just the second time in school history.

Prior to his time at Ramapo, Colón served as the head coach at Bloomfield College from 2021–22. He quickly elevated the Bears into one of the top programs in the CACC, winning back-to-back North Division titles and reaching the CACC Championship match in consecutive seasons. During his tenure, seven of his student-athletes earned spots on the All-CACC Tournament Team.

Beyond his collegiate coaching, Colón has been deeply involved in the New Jersey volleyball community. He was the Club Director and 18s National Team Coach for Sureshots Volleyball Club (2018–21), leading his squad to two USAV National Championship bids. From 2008–21, he also served as the head girls’ volleyball coach at Hudson Catholic High School, where he collected three HCIAL Coach of the Year honors, five straight County Championships (2015–19), and two State Sectional Championships (2016, 2017).

A 2002 graduate of New Jersey City University, Colón earned his B.A. in Business Administration.
