Rasheen Davis joined head coach Shaheen Holloway's staff for the 2021-22 academic season as an assistant coach.

Davis brings a wealth of experience and a winning background with him to Jersey City having been on the coaching staffs of double figure NCAA Tournament programs over the course of his career. Most recently, he spent the 2019-20 season at Arizona State, where the Sun Devils were in position for an NCAA berth prior to the cancelation of the seasons due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

From 2015 through 2019, he spent a combined four years in the Atlantic 10 Conference, working two seasons at UMass Amherst (2017-18 and 2018-19) and two seasons at VCU (2015-16 and 2016-17). During that stretch, Davis was part of the highly-successful VCU staff that developed an A-10 All-Conference First Team selection, while being an integral piece in the implementation of VCU’s 2-2-1 zone press, which helped the Rams to 51 victories and a pair of NCAA Tournament berths over his two seasons with the squad.

Before his stint in Virginia, he was the associate head coach at MAAC member Manhattan College for three seasons from 2012-15, during which the Jaspers won 58 games, took home the 2014 and 2015 MAAC Tournament Championship titles and advanced to two NCAA Tournaments.

Before working in Riverdale, Davis was on the staff at Xavier for a couple of seasons, securing back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths in 2011 and 2012. While on the Musketeers coaching staff, he helped the program to 47 wins, including 25 in the A-10, and mentored seven all-conference choices and the 2011 A-10 Player of the Year and All-America selection. Additionally, Davis spent time as a program assistant at Louisville (2007-08) earning an NCAA appearance, as video coordinator at Pittsburgh which led to two NCAA berths, as assistant coach at St. Thomas Aquinas College (2002-05) and coached at the high school and AAU level for Rice High School (NY) from 2005-07 and the New York Gauchos.

Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in social science from St. Thomas Aquinas in 2002 and received his master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the College of New Rochelle in 2005.
