Jerrell Coleman enters his first season with the Saint Peter’s men’s basketball program in 2023-24 as Director of Player Development. 

A native of Elizabeth, N.J, Coleman most recently served as the Director of Legends of Youth Program for Elizabeth Recreation. Coleman oversaw all day-to-day program activities, created personal development material for staff and student-athletes, and more. 

Coleman spent nine seasons with the University of Rhode Island, he became a member of the Rams family in 2013 and has served as a head manager and special assistant of basketball operations under former head coach Dan Hurley. Coleman assisted the staff in the recruitment of players and created an experience for them to grow to love while on campus.  

Additionally, Coleman served as the Director of Player development and assistant director of basketball operations under URI’s current head coach David Cox. Coleman assisted with player development and recruiting materials.

As a player, Coleman played at St. Patrick’s for Kevin Boyle and was teammates with Deandre Bembry and Jared Nickens there. He also played with Malachi Richardson and Jameel Warney at Roselle Catholic, where he was a two-sport letterman in baseball and basketball. He is an alumnus of the Hoop Group Basketball as well as Bobby Hurley Sr. 's basketball camp, serving as both a former camper and counselor for both. 

Coleman earned his bachelor's degree from Rhode Island in 2017. He currently is working toward his master's degree in Communication Studies.
