Coach Corey Lowery was named Director of Player Development and Coaching Consultant at Saint Peter’s University under Head Coach Shaheen Holloway in the Fall of 2018.

Coach Lowery brings over 20 years of coaching experience to Saint Peter’s, including 14 years as a Head Coach. Coach Lowery’s responsibilities include assistance with the day to day operations of the Men’s Basketball program, assistance with scouting reports and film break down, practice planning, game planning, collaboration with Academic Advisors, academic mentoring, consulting about recruits and social development of student-athletes on the Men’s Basketball team.
 
In Head Coach Holloway’s inaugural season, Lowery helped the Peacocks reach the quarterfinals of the MAAC tournament. In the quarterfinal game, the Peacock’s nearly upset three time defending MAAC Champions, Iona College falling by just two points (71-73). The Peacocks as a team were 1st in the MAAC in blocked shots, 1st in Rebounding Defense, 2nd in Field Goal Percentage defense, and boast a top 5 mid-major recruiting class going into the 2019-20 season.
 
Prior to Saint Peter’s University, Lowery completed six years as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Essex County College. Under Coach Lowery’s leadership the Wolverines won six consecutive GSAC Championships (12’, 13’, 14’, 15, 16’,17’), five consecutive Region XIX tournament championships (13’, 14’, 15’, 16’, 17’) and runner-up in 2012; five consecutive District 12 Championships (13’, 14’, 15’, 16’, 17’), five consecutive appearances in the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament (13’, 14’, 15’, 16’, 17’) held in Danville, Illinois, finished as National Champion Finalist in 2014 and made it to the Final 4 in 2014 and 2016. Under Lowery, the Wolverines were dominate in Region XIX play, owning a conference record of 88-6. The Wolverines owned an overall record of 157-35 in Lowery’s six years as head coach. The Wolverines were Nationally ranked in the top 20 in each of Lowery’s six seasons, finishing as the 2nd ranked team in the Nation in 2014 and 4th in 2016. Coach Lowery recruited three players that earned All-American honors; four 1st Team All-Region players, six 2nd Team All-Region players, and five MVPs of the Region XIX tournament. Coach Lowery was named Region XIX Coach of the Year five consecutive times (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) along with District 12 Coach of the Year (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). Coach Lowery graduated 32 players that went on to play at the division I and II level.
 
In his 10 years as a Junior College Head Coach, Lowery holds an overall record of 245-63; has a conference record of 152-19; has won 9 GSAC championships; 6 Region XIX championship; 2 Region XIX runner-up finishes; and 6 National Championship Tournament runs boasting Final 4 finishes in 2014 and 2016 and National Champion Finalist in 2014. Coach Lowery has taken two different Junior College programs (Middlesex C.C and Essex C.C) to the National Tournament and has led both programs to Top 2 National rankings. As Head Coach at Middlesex County College, Lowery led his team to three straight GSAC championships (07’, 08’, 09), a Region XIX championship in 2008, and his team made it to the Elite Eight in the Division III NJCAA National tournament in 2008. During the 2008 season Lowery’s team accomplished the #1 ranking in the nation. In that same year Lowery was also named Region XIX and GSAC Coach of the Year.
 
Before Coach Lowery became the Head Coach at Middlesex County College and Essex County College, he was an assistant coach at Bloomfield College. In Lowery’s first year as assistant coach he helped Bloomfield College win the CACC regular season championship and CACC tournament championship, which landed the team an automatic birth to the NCAA division II tournament.

Coach Lowery began his coaching career in 1998 as the Freshman Boy’s Head Basketball coach and Assistant Varsity coach at Hillside High School. In 2001, Lowery was promoted to Head Boy’s Varsity Basketball Coach and led his team to two conference championships and two State Sectional Championship runner-up finishes in four years at the helm. Lowery was named Union County Coach of the Year in 2004.
 
Coach Lowery attended Rutgers-Newark University and was a combo guard for the Scarlet Raiders Men’s basketball team. He graduated in 1998 with a BA in Sociology. After graduating from Rutgers, he continued his education at Saint Peter's University and earned his MA in Education Administration and Supervision in 2002.
 
Coach Lowery is married to Kimberly Lowery and has two beautiful daughters Cameran and Caylin Lowery. Coach Lowery strongly believes “Success comes to those who have faith and the ability to attain the necessary resources to execute a well thought out plan.” He also states, “Goals without a plan are simply a wish.”
