Box Score JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's men's soccer team (1-3) earned its first win of the season, defeating the George Washington Revolutionaries (1-3) by six goals, 6-0, at Jaroschak Field on Friday. The last time the Peacocks scored six goals in a game was back on Nov. 6, 2010 when they defeated Manhattan, 7-0.
Both teams went scoreless in the first half before the Peacocks' offense exploded in the final 45 minutes.
Tim Strele led the way with a career-high four goals, breaking his previous record of two against Binghamton (09/19/23) and Mount St. Mary's (10/30/24).
Harry Davison and
Leo Coval also put shots in the back of the net to cement the Saint Peter's victory.
"We were doing all the right things in the first half, creating chances for ourselves and staying on top of it," Strele said. "At halftime, coach [
Julian Richens] just said 'Let's get one early and then the rest will come as we go, we got to keep the pressure up, follow the gameplan and just believe in ourselves' and I think that's what we did until the very last minute."
Making his Saint Peter's debut at goalkeeper was
Moritz Conrad, and his first game in action was a good one. Conrad and the Peacocks' defense didn't allow a single goal the entire game while he racked up six saves on the day.
