Peacocks Enter Conference Opener Well Rested

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's men's soccer team (2-3-1) opens up conference play against Sacred Heart (1-3-2) at Jaroschak Field on Saturday. The Peacocks and Pioneers are set to kick off at 3 p.m. ET. Prior to the game, Saint Peter's is holding a Club Day celebration paired with Global Soccer Academy (GSA).

GSA will be bringing their Elite Skills Arena which offers interactive challenges that fans will have the opportunity to experience before the game, at halftime and postgame. There will be food trucks posted down by the field, too.

The Peacocks most recently tied NJIT, 0-0, on the road after winning consecutive games against George Washington and VMI. So far, Saint Peter's is 1-1 at home this season, and it'll look to improve that record on Saturday.

ABOUT THE SACRED HEART PIONEERS
The Pioneers' one victory this year came against Yale in a 3-1 match. Since then, they've had two ties with a 1-1 draw against FDU and a 2-2 draw against Seton Hall, as well as a 1-2 loss to St. John's. David Garcia Gallego and Daniel Losfablos lead the team in goals with two apiece.

Sacred Heart is coached by Anthony Anzevui, who is in his third season as head coach of the Pioneers.

NOTES
Saint Peter's is 4-5 all-time vs. Sacred Heart and 3-1 against the Pioneers at home...neither team has won consecutive games in the series since Sacred Heart won back-to-back games in 2015-2016.
